Basket Strainers
OVERVIEW: basket strainer can be used in applications for water, oil, gas, or steam where protection from foreign matter in a pipeline is required
Basket Strainers feature top removal of the screen. The screen is in the form of a basket, with a lifting handle, so that all particulate captured and retained by the screen can be easily removed for disposal. They are intended for applications where large amounts of solids particulate are expected and where the clean-out will be frequent. For easily flushable solids, a modified cone bottom basket can be tilted with automatic or manual blow-down through drain port.
This will allow clean-out without removal of the screen, and without interrupting the flow process.
Basket Strainers range
in size from 3/8" - 24" with Threaded, Socket Weld or Flanged End Connections. Pressure ratings are ANSI 125-600#.
Standard body materials offered are Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel. Various Perforations, Mesh or Perforation Mesh combinations baskets are available to meet your process requirements.
Basket Strainers can be equipped with Bolted Covers, Hinged Covers, Clamped Covers, a Davit Lifting Device or other Lifting Device to make removal of large heavy covers safe and efficient. r.

Y Strainers
Y Strainer take their name from their configuration. Y Strainers are cast in sizes ¼" - 24" with Threaded, Socket Weld or Flanged End connections.
Strainer are your most economical choice for large debris removal. They are most commonly used in pressurized lines, gas or liquid, but can also be used in suction or vacuum conditions.
Y-Strainer has the advantage of being able to be installed in either a horizontal or vertical position. However, in both cases, the screening element or "leg" must be on the "downside" of the strainer body so that entrapped solids can be properly collected and held for disposal.
Cast Y-Strainer and of coursefabricated Y-Strainer
are available in most materials. Pressure ratings are ANSI 125# through ANSI 2500#. Standard body materials offered are carbon steel or Stainless Steel,. The Y-Strainer are equipped with a blow off port. A ball valve can be fitted to flush debris that is easily removable from the screen and exhaust to atmosphere or a drain system. This feature allows for easy cleaning without interrupting the process. Various Perforations, Mesh or Perforation Mesh combinations or Wedge Wire screens are available to meet your process requirements.
OVERVIEW: Stayflow Y strainers mechanically remove solids from flowing steam, gases or liquid piping systems with the use of a perforated or wire mesh straining screen, and are used to protect equipment. They get their names from their configuration, which includes a branch angled off the flow path.
Y strainers are most often used for steam and gases, but are also used for liquids. They have less debris holding capacity and higher pressure drops than basket strainers, but they can be used in either horizontal or vertical pipe runs where flow is downwards. They can also be fitted with a blow-off connection at the end of the branch end that includes a valve, which allows for cleaning. The valve is opened without shutting off the flow or disassembling the strainer, as the flow through the pipe will flush out the solids in the screen.
These strainers are usually supplied in one of two materials: carbon steel, or stainless steel. Carbon steel is used where higher temperatures, or concern with thermal or mechanical shock is an issue, which makes them popular in the oil and petrochemical industries. Stainless steel is needed where corrosion could be an issue, and is widely used in the chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries.
They are provided with a variety of end connections, including threaded, flanged, and welded. Standard screens are provided for either steam service or WOG (water, oil, gas) service, but other screens are available on request.
They have flanges that are drilled in accordance with ASME B16.1, and perforated 304 stainless steel screens are welded along the seam for maximum strength. If the media is not specified, screens for liquid will be supplied.
Convenient gauge taps are furnished with a plug on both the inlet and outlet sides. These taps allow for easy installation of pressure gauges to monitor differential pressure to determine when screen cleaning is needed.
With its large body and sizable straining element, the YCF models provide excellent open area ratios that are typically two-and-a -half times larger than the corresponding pipeline, minimizing the pressure drop.
These carbon steel units are epoxy painted to help resist rust and corrosion. Stayflow also offers epoxy coatings as an option. They are also are available with different cover options, including swing, clamp, and hinge type covers.

Tee strainers
Tee strainers is a custom fabricated compound strainer designed to remove foreign particles from pipeline.Tee Type Strainers are a low cost solution to large nominal bore straining requirements. They can be mounted into vertical or horizontal piping and can be configured for right-angled applications.
Tee strainers are most commonly supplied with a range of graded filtration levels (fine to coarse or vice-versa) to ensure that the system is running at the required cleanliness level when met with full load. Tee strainers feature either bolted cover or quick opening covers for application suitability.
Tee strainers are used where a compact accessible strainers is needed for protection of pumps, valves and similar equipment.
FABRICATED T STRAINERS
SEE ALL FABRICATED STRAINERS
The Model FT Tee strainers (T strainers) are custom made to meet your need in any size. They are available in any size, with 150, 300, or 600# RF flanges or butt weld ends, and in carbon steel or stainless steel. For steam, water, oil or gas, in either a horizontal or vertical orientation.
The T strainers are compact and easily accessible, and are used in service similar to temporary conical strainers, but with their own housing. This allows the screen to be extracted after startup is complete, or the screen can be left in place as an additional permanent safeguard.
Unless otherwise specified, a 6 mesh, 1/8" perforated 304 stainless steel screen will be supplied, but different size perforations and meshes are available in stainless steel, monel, and brass. ASME U Stamp certification is available.
See the submittal sheet for additional standard technical data. Contact the factory with your application.
Duplex Strainers
Duplex Strainers are designed for applications where flow cannot be shut down to service the strainer screen. Change over is accomplished by use of butterfly valves. They are very economical because they are fabricated to your specific requirements and with your choice of valves. This arrangement provides a bubble-tight shut off between basket chambers, essential for use in negative head pump suction systems. They are very economical because they are fabricated to your specific requirements and with your choice of valves.
OVERVIEW: Duplex Strainers are ideal when the piping stystem can not be shut down for basket cleaning. There are two screened baskets that trap debris, with a lever that switches between the two, allowing one basket to be cleaned with no interuption in flow - a benefit that is sometimes crucial.
The duplex strainers (dual strainers) are available with threaded or flanged connections. Standard screens are provided for WOG (water, oil, gas) service, but other screens are available on request. Different screens can also be used in each of the chambers, so that different batches can utilize the most appropriate screen.
These strainers are usually supplied in one of four materials: iron, carbon steel, bronze, or stainless steel. Iron is used most often because it costs the least, and has good corrosion resistance in water and many other services. Carbon steel is used where higher temperatures, or concern with thermal or mechanical shock is an issue, which makes them popular in the oil and petrochemical industries. Bronze handles thermal and mechanical shock better than iron, and is better in some corrosive applications, but is limited in temperature range. Stainless steel is needed where corrosion could be an issue, and is widely used in the chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries.
X STRAINERS
CARBON STEEL DUPLEX STRAINERS
The duplex strainers with flanged and thread ends respectively. They are for use in continuous flow applications to avoid shutting down the system for cleaning. Simply moving the handle to the right or left will divert flow to chamber under the handle, which allows for cleaning the basket not in use.
This duplex is designed with two stainless steel balls that efficiently divert the pipeline flow from one basket chamber to the other. PTFE seats ensure a positive seal and help to prevent seepage into the chamber that is being cleaned.
The low torque handle is easy to operate. And there are no special tools required to access and remove the straining element, which can be any configuration of perforation or mesh lining.
Non-shock Working pressure is 200psi @ 150F, and max liquid is 200psi @ 150F. Standard screen 1/16" (.0625), 41% Open Area. Not recommented for steam.
